    Trace X standover

Was thinking this would be a great second bike for my wife but the standover is really tall even on the smaller sizes. Anybody else notice that? Seems to me they screwed the pooch in that regard.

My wife has a 27" inseam and rides a 13.5 women's trance which has a standover height of 29.4". This is measured a foot forward of the seat tube. Because of the sloping top tube the standover 6" in front of the saddle is 26".
It has not been an issue for her at all.

I've got about a 30" inseam, I have found the 16" trance has ample standover compared to the 17" specialized hardrock I had. The 17" Giant Alias also has better standover than the specialized had (probably a bit more than the trance).

So no complaints from this lady, however I imagine smaller than 16" sizes would probably not have that much more standover. The 16" is smallest available to us here in Australia in most stores anyway.
