    Seat post problems

Has anyone in here broken the bolt off of his or her Titec seat post yet?? I broke mine twice before going to a Thomson. Same goes for a mechanic i know from the local bike shop.
I think the single bolt design is flawed.

Might be but I've never broken a set post bolt or anything like that in the years that I've been riding. I weight 200lbs just in case you were wondering.

It's just odd though, I only weigh about 155 lbs and it didn't take long to break. I know I had the nut on it tight enough because I made sure it was after it broke the first time.

the Titec X-wing seatposts are apparently flawed (just take a look at the reviews, its in the hall of shame). last i heard titec was offering a replacement post. an employee at my local giant dealership said his was fine after i brought that up...*shrugs*

Yeah I had the same problem on the NRS. It came with a titec seatpost and the bolt snapped in half. Of course, titec sent a replacment X-wing right away because it was under warranty. Knowing that it might happen again, I got a thomson right away. Happy with that thomson since.

For install and forget seat posts and stems Thomson is the way to go.

Contact Titec and get the warranty replacement, sell it and get a Thomson.
