Reign Question for the Giant Homies

    Hey all,

    Looking for some info.

I can get a deal on 05 Reign 2 for $1395, but I hear that the head tube angle is 70 degrees. Mt LBS quoted me 1$850 for 06.

The 06 Regin has a slightly more relaxed HT, for those who have the 05 version, how do you like the ride down?

    Any info would be great!

    70 degree Head Angle???

That number is way too steep. My Ventana had a 70 degree head angle with 100mm travel fork and this Reign is much slacker. I would guess it has a 68 degree head angle with a 130 mm travel fork. I run a 90 mm stem and the front axle looks way in front of the bars giving plenty of confidence while descending steep downs.

    P.S. I have an '05 Reign

    Check Picture

This picture is with a Fox Talas. Looks slacker than 70 degrees.

    Thanks for that pic Pic.

I think I'll save some $$ and go the 05. I'll put on a Z1 lite, Pike, or another tall fork to slack the head a bit...

Still looking for more comments from fellow dirtheads

Agree - it's definitely slacker than 70. Mine has an RS Revelation, with 130mm travel, and a 508mm A/C measure (which isn't very tall), and it still has 68.5 degrees of slope, by my measure.

Thanks all in this Giant forum....just laid the money down for a 06 R2

It was helpful looking at all the posts and getting some questions answered.
