    Reign 2 Groupset

I noticed the Reign 2 comes with Deore drivetrain(1x10) and brakes. Anyone know why? The SLX groupset with a 1x11 isn't much more expensive (less $200 difference I think). Seems like they could still offer the Reign 2 for less than $3k with SLX components. I'm not bitching at Giant or anything. I (a newb) am genuinely curious since SLX seems commonplace on bikes at that price range.

The Reign 2 2018 comes with 1x10 Deore drivetrain because certain Manufacturers like Giant are world champions in cutting corners everywhere yet making the bike still look expensive and valuable

Speccing a bike with 1x10 over 1x11 is an annoyance of biblical proportions since you cannot just slap a high range sunrace 11-50 cassette on without changing rear derailleur, shifter, chain and chainring too. Well there's a 10speed sunrace 11-46 cassette available but it's still unclear if the Deore derailleur is compatible (your job to find that out)

Funnily in Germany the Reign 2 2018 is specced with a SLX 1x11 drivetrain and there's a slightly more expensive Reign 1.5 with 1x12 Sram Eagle drivetrain available too, so at least in Germany Giant isn't trying to **** us over

maybe you can source this model on the US market too but for now neither Reign 1.5 or Reign 1 are listed on the US site, wonder why

As a consumer I'd vote with my wallet, why buy a Giant Reign in the first place when you can get better specced YT Capra for less money?

The German line up makes more sense. In the US you have to spend $4k just to get the SLX components...which comes on a lot of sub $1500 bikes.

Giant is on so many markets that it is unavoidable that they will make strange configurations for some markets (probably based on "marketing knowledge" and parts availability. I also see that German lineup makes most sense in previous years.
