Installing hydraulic brake cable Toughroad SLR-0

I had to replace the front fork of this bike and therefore needed to pull the hydraulic brake line out of the fork - it threads into the fork just below the stem and back out lower down.
In order to pull the cable through the holes I needed to cut the brake end of the house off as the ferrule would not fit through.

How to I replace this ferrule? Does it need to be pressed on with a special tool? Alternatively can I use a shimano hose barb?

    thanks for any help.

Tektro Slate T4 hydraulic or what ?

if OEM T4's you need these parts

the barb can be tapped in with anything, the olive compresses by itself
when you connect hose and tighten down on final install

don't mix and match olives and barbs that's how brake systems can fail
every maker has different fittings specific to their setup
