I feel sorry for you guys....

    Hi Mtbr,

I'm from the land down under (australia) and this question has been getting on my nerves lately....Why is the STP range so different between Australia and US?

    have a look at this

    US STP
    http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-US/...in/1286/29384/

    AUS STP Range
    http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-AU/...in/1129/29608/

It really makes me wonder....IF they sold the Australian STP Range in the US they would sell a whole lot more bikes!

    agree? disagree?

    cheers

I manage a shop in TX that sells Giant and I doubt very seriously that anyone here would come in and buy that bike. What's the retail on it? I would guess it's $1500 USD or more. It's a solid build for sure, but given the ease in obtaining parts in the states, it's hard to spec bikes like that and sell them.

And those with the money for higher quality builds would probably rather build up a frame from scratch rather then purchasing a complete bike.

at least they get the "Frame Only" option that we miss out on.

i have built up my Reign with all the parts of my choice, but when it comes to upgrading the frame, i will have an issue trying to get a Reign frame in AUS.

i guess i can always part it out.

    Ebay, here i come.

Nooooooo. just got a new set of forks, so my spending days are well and truely over.

I was pointing out that "when" i do want to upgrade it will be a frame only, as i am really happy with the parts i have built up.

When I was Looking for a New Bike, I Forgot to put Canada in the Search and was Checking out the STP Pro & STP 0 , Then went to the LBS and found out that We Can't get either Bike in Canada.......
So I had to go with the STP 1 as that was the Best Bike I could get here.........

Canada's Prices are pretty close to Australia's.....So I would have had No Problem Spending the Extra Few Hundred Dollars for the Up-Grade's that come on the Pro.........
