    Glory 8 vs. Glory DH

I'm trying to figure out the differences between the Glory 8 and Glory DH. Aside from the obvious like travel (8 vs. 8.8) and head tube size. How are the two frames different? I've emailed Giant and they weren't much help.

I assume the 8 uses a shorter shock than the DH. Can you stick a 9.5 x 3.0 on the 8 and essentially have a Glory DH with a 1.5" HT? Putting a 200mm fork would slack the bike out, perhaps explaining the difference in heat tube angle.

Does anyone know if the linkages are the same?

    Thanks guys

    What I know:

Other than the travel, the wheelbase on the DH is longer and it's got a lower BB. Both better for racing.

I wonder if the wheelbase difference is due to the longer fork, that slackens the head angle which would also make the wheelbase longer. I'll have to measure the BB height of the two sometime. A shop near me has a Glory DH and buddy has the 8.

According to Giant's USA site the top tube lengths are the same. The difference in geo is the head angle and wheelbase, which I suspect might be due to the longer fork.

I just spoke with a sales rep at Giant USA...he was pretty confident that the shock sizes were the same, just the linkage plates were slightly different altering the amount of travel. Outside of that he said if you put a Fox 40 on a Glory 8, the geo would be the same.

Can a Glory 8 owner measure the length of their shock to confirm?

Eye to eye is 9.5" and is a 3.5" stroke shock on the DH. I don't thinkt the 8 will hav ethe sme Geo as a DH no matter what for you put on it. I have a friend with a Travis Ti on his 8 and the Head angel is around 67d. My DH is set at 65d on the nose. Good luck man.
