    is the Anthem X the best production race MTB?

    I don't know about that.. I know lots of serious fast riders on Anthems... Easily built in-23lb range and lighter, Carbon (Adam Craig) 21lb range, after that it's all Motor baby don't blame the bike. Our local pro P-NorthWest dominated on his Anthem X..

    OP didn't ask whether a seriously fast rider could win everything on an Anthem.

    Which kinda makes the question redundant anyway. I'll back the rider over the bike any day.

    I'm a die hard Giant fan but I'd still vote no for the OP's question.

    Take it for what it's worth. UK's Mountain bike mag (2009) same frame 2010, gave it the bike of the year award out of 127 bikes

    For the $$...it's one of the best. I test-rode about fourteen 100mm travel bikes and the Anthem X did everything right, in my opinion. Mine below is currently 22.3lbs:
