    2017 vs 2016 Trance sizing?

    Hey all,

I'm looking through a few sizing threads, it looks like there was a bit of difference in sizing between the 2016 and 2017 Trance frames. Being 6'-1" w/ ~33" inseam, what would be recommended? I always find myself between L and XL.

Totally different geo between 2016 and 2017
I am about 5'10 and I ride a 2017 L but I tend to like a longer top tube due to back issues. I test rode both M and L and while the M felt more playful, I immediately knew it would kill my back.

But despite what I said, IMO, if you are between sizes, go larger when it comes to the Trance because the 2017 L and XL should come with a 70mm stem. Swap it out with a shorter stem and should be good to go.

I am close to 6'2" with 34" inseam and ride a trance advance 2 in a large size. I have purchased XL bikes in the past and felt stretched out. I say go with the large size. You experience may vary.

This happened to me. I bought the 2017 Trance 2. XL. I am 6'1". I switched the stem for a Race Face 35mm and got new carbon bars. The bike was just plain too big for me. I felt stretched and uncomfortable all the time. I even had the seat all the way forward..which made the riding position really awkward. I ended up selling it and buying the 2018 Trance 2...Large. Absolute perfection. Hope this helps. Post a picture when you get it!
