    2014 Anthem 3 tire size

Hey everyone, I have a 27.5 2014 Anthem 3 with SXC-2 wheels set and was wondering what the widest tires are that I can put on it? I current have Maxxis EXO Ardent 27.5x2.25 with what looks like lots of room. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Vince

I don't know what Giant was thinking in 2014 when speccing wheels with 19mm rims on a mountainbike but tires above 2.25" width are definitely not recommended on these ridiculously narrow rims, hell the wheels on my roadbike got the same rim width!!

why do you want wider tires in the first place, it's an Anthem for Christ sake!

I had the same yr/bike as you. As steel pointed out it is "only" an Anthem, but the 3 model in stock form was hardly a light zippy XC whip. I upped the fork travel on mine to 120 and for more of trailbike type duties and ran 2.35's in TrailBoss/Vigilante as I recall. They worked fine on the stock rims. YRMV
Wait whuuut, who did he tell you that!?!?....
