When will an AI pass the touring test?
OK AI's can pass for human in a conversation and drive as safe as most people. But when will an AI be able to ride a fully loaded bicycle 1000 miles without being hit by an automobile?
"Dish is illogical." Spoke of Vulcan.

When eBikes become autonomous.
-
When humans let AI do all the driving?

Touring test...
I see what you did there.

Wanted, SRAM GX 2x11 rear derailleur
It ain't supposed to be easy.

Not getting hit is going to greatly depend on the what the automobiles and trucks do.

Unfortunately, you face a paradox there. Once an AI becomes intelligent enough to be able ride a heavy bike for thousands of miles in traffic, he will almost certainly no longer be stupid enough to want to do it!

Probably about the same time Salsa or Surly make a Turing bike.

Who cares if a robot could pilot a bike for 1,000 miles. Seriously, what's the point? Robots are great for completing mundane tasks that no one wants to do. A bike tour is something someone does for pleasure.

This.
I want AI to keep distracted drivers from killing me. I don’t want AI to replace ME on the bike.

Is this the future of ebiking? Just stay at the house, and let the robot do ALL the work.

Sweet. That’d be rad. You’ll be the first one I send it to.

The data stream from the robobike will picked up by nanobots in your bloodstream to trigger fat-reducing gene splices and muscle cell metabolism boosts.
Kind of like having you phone read a text to you.
Use it, use it, use it while you still have it.

Intentional or accidental?
Don't say what you mean, you might spoil your face...

Depends whether it's a 3 Laws robot or a Vehicular Cycling robot. 3 Laws robot aims his bike under the wheels of a truck because bikes are too dangerous for humans to have them. Vehicular Cycling robot willfully antagonizes drivers who then run him down because he's not any more alive than a traffic cone

There is some brilliance in this thread!
Kudos to all and let me be the first to say "Welcome!" to our new robot overlords!
