    What kind of Sunglasses can you suggest for a strong prescription?

    Hi,

    I recently bought a pair of Oakley Crosslinks. I like the frames except for the fact that I get a blinding glare when I go riding( light comes in from the sides).

    I have a pair of Rec Specs that don't cause this issue.

    I was unaware at the time I bought these they would cause that issue and the store I bought them from didn't know either. I am trying to see if I can trade them for something else.

    I know I need a wrap around frame but most of these types of sunglassess don't accommodate my prescription:

    R =-5.5, -2.0, 97
    L =-5.5 -1.5, 78

    I would appreciate it if someone can suggest some types of sunglasses that would meet my Mountain Biking needs (where I won't get that blinding glare!)

    Thanks

    I had problems with finding wrap arounds that fitted my prescription also. After some research, I ended up with Wiley Romer ii advanced, bronze tint, polarized. Big debate over polarization, but I found it works on the trails. This time of the year, with the lower sun, I really noticed the difference. No blinding glare. I rode all year with them with no problems. Might want to check it out

    Thanks guys for your input.

    I'll look into Wiley. They look good and aren't expensive.

    Those Oakley's costed me an arm and a leg! At least work paid for it, but
    they are useless for MTBing with that glare!

    Tomorrow I am going to go to the shop I bought them from to see if we can
    work something out. If worst comes to worst, I could use them as back up glasses. I just have to swap out the polarized lenses with the clear ones. They are nice frames - too bad they have that glare!

    Someone also suggested these:

    Ray-Ban Daddy - O Sunglasses RB2016 FREE S&H RB2016-W2578-59. Ray-Ban Prescription Sunglasses w/Single Vision Lenses.

    Has anyone heard of these?

    I would appreciate some additional input on this.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone

    I ride with grey polarized Wiley X Bricks. LOVE em. They don't look like a wrap around glass but they have excellent side coverage.

    With the money Oakley charges, I would return them as they do not fulfill there intended function. Whoever did the lenses should have seen (pun intended) the potential problem.

    How deep is your prescription?:

    Is it stronger than mine?:

    R =-5.5, -2.0, 97
    L =-5.5 -1.5, 78

    Finding a pair of sunglasses that can accommodate my prescription is challenging.

    I almost got a pair of Rudy's. After I ordered them, the shop called me and said that the frames couldn't accommodate them after all.

    Surprisingly, I got a refund on the frames! Now I have to figure out which frames I should go with. Any more suggestions?

    I work with a guy that's one prescription away from being legally blind... I have no idea how he drives.
    Anyway, he wanted some Oakleys but Oakley either couldn't accommodate his prescription OR it was going to cost a ton of money. Can't remember which. We called Wiley X and they were able to help him at no more cost than my glasses which are -1.50 and -1.00.
