    Shoe insert size *Hot Feet*

I've got a pair of Giro Code MTB shoes with carbon soles. I'm using the medium inserts right now and if I strap them down tight, I get hot/burning feet after a mile or so of riding. For the last 60 miles of riding or so I've been running the straps loose and the ratchet slightly tight. I want to get to the bottom of what is causing the irritation so I can run them tight without pain. I have a fallen arch so usually use higher arch running shoes, but in this case I think I may need to goto the smaller insert. I'm going to try and swap in the small for todays ride but looking for any suggestions. The shoes are the correct size for my foot.

Try not cinching them down so tight, just snug, maybe even less than. Use the thinner insole as well. Your feet swell through activity and gravity so you may need to loosen the straps throughout the duration of a ride. If that doesn't give you any relief try Superfeet insoles, the small volume ones with the advice above.

Tried the smaller insert tonight for a 11 mile ride and it seemed to help, toes did get tingly a little bit but overall it seemed to help.
