    Seatpost Clamp

I am trying to get a new seatpost clamp for my 04 Marin Attack Trail..Ive looked online to try and find a size but I cant seem to find it..I call price point and they tell me that my seatpost clamp is 30.9....and my seatpost is 30..Ive been looking for a clamp for that size and there doesnt seem to be one..the nearest one is 31.8...so is that the one to get?..do I have to get a shim as well?....thanks.

That makes no sense? If your post diameter is 30mm the clamp would have to be bigger than 30.9mm.
I have 27.2 post and use 31.8 clamp. Measure the outside diameter of your seat tube straight across the middle outer to outer edge and you can tell what size is needed. According to Marin you use a 30.9 diameter post the most common for that would be a 34.9 clamp but frames differ and measuring is your best bet.

the post diameter is 30mm..its labeled on the post itself..they (price point) said that my clamp size was 30.9...but there seems to be no seatpost clamp that size...the next size up is 31.8....that was the question I was asking..is it ok to get that size? or do I have to get a shim or something.

So you have a .9mm frame thickness? Good luck with that. That`s like paper thin.Less than 1mm thick.
Are you sure the ,9 on the post is not worn off? or you are reading 30.0 and the 0 is actually a 9?
Marin specs list the seat post for your bike as 30.9. As does P.P.
It`s not ok to get that size clamp. You need to know what you actually have and measuring is the only way.
Over what anybody says including me.
Are you not able to measure?

The clamp has to be bigger than the post size plus thickness of the frame tubing.
