Seat post slippage (aluminum post, carbon frame)

I'm having a problem with slippage on my aluminum seat post against a carbon frame. I did a search and the popular "fix" seems to be mountain climber's chalk; but I noticed these threads were generally dealing with an aluminum seat post mated with an aluminum frame.

Is chalk an OK fix for aluminum against a carbon frame?

I think my QR clamp sucks too - so that's another thing I want to look at replacing.

    Cheers!

Try a Salsa QR clamp, best I've ever used.
Don't you hate it when a sentence doesn't end the way you think it octopus?
