    That's rough.

I hate to see people get hurt but I have actually been arrested by a bike cop once. Trust me, the resentment is still there.

I love how only one person out of all the POSs watching went over to help the guy out.

Oww... That hurts to watch. Too much front brake and not over the rear tire will do it every time.

I have a friend who trains cops on bikes. He says that theyare all very much like jocks, are very competitive, pounce on weakness, and can have difficulty dealing with being defeated by a toy.

A bit of training with experinced people manages that to success but it takes a bit of doing. In the end you build respect for the machine and for the skills.

I'm really tempted to minus rep you for the fact that you got arrested by a bike cop. A cop in a patrol car, ok. But a bike cop? Really now?

Lets just say if it was a bike race, I probably would have had him. Even in my extremely intoxicated state.

As weak as it may sound initially I actually understand where you are coming from. At events like the FBR here in Phoenix or other large outdoor events where there are beer tents and the sort, those bike cops area real pain. They blend in well in the large crowds and can move quicker through them. Doesnt mix well with public imbibing indiscretions.

Mental note. If being chased by a bike cop, run or ride down a flight of stairs. Check.

Wow. Looks like a broken wrist, I guess he's lucky it wasn't a broken face. Aren't those landings usually concrete? Ouch. Seems like they'd want to practice on something smaller first. You know, walk before you can run grasshopper and all that.

Looking at the shadows on the top landing, it appears to be bar grating, which is often times textured or barbed for slip resistance. Not sure, but he may have preferred concrete.

Are you sure that's not the shadows off the chain link fence? It looks like the sun is low and behind the camera, all the shadows from the railing and the bike are nearly at level. Either way ouch ouch and ouch. Every time I watch it I cringe even more.

He was obviously terrified to even try riding down the stairs...which only made his fear come true.

Why did they not have him practice on some smaller set of stairs before working his way up to a large set like that?

Easy. Because common sense is not a common virtue in law enforcement.
