    Newbie help!

I just bought a Framed Minnesota 1.2. I've only put about 30 miles on it so far. I'm also pretty new to the whole bike scene and I wanted to upgrade the bottom bracket and crank set. Not that the stock parts are bad, I just like upgrading and having custom stuff!. So since I'm new to thus world, could you point me in the right direction to what sizes I would need (bottom bracket, crank set)? Any info would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Do you have a budget in mind or if there's a specific requirement for it, carbon, just lighter, external BB?

I am not 100% positive, but you should just need a crankset with a 100mm spindle designed for a 170mm rear end. Sram GX comes in a 100mm GXP version for under $100 and about $25 more for the bottom bracket.

Raceface makes several, the aefect is their budget model.

If you want carbon, both raceface and SRAM make high end carbon fat cranks.
