    New Member ...... dt swiss 420 rim buster

    hi this will be my first post
    iv been riding a full sus for about 3 months or so now ........ a specialized stuntjumper fsr , on a resent bike trip up bike park wales i smashed in to a tree stump and buckled my rim beyond repair .. im

    my question is this ..................
    can i buy just the rim or do i have to buy a complete wheel with everything with it . if i can just buy a rim any recommendations pls ,or if i have to buy a wheel any recommendations also ....thanks

    You can rebuild with a new rim. If you get the exact same one you could re-use the same spokes, otherwise you will likely need new ones. If you have to pay someone to build it it may not save you much, if any cash though.

    so buy the complete wheel ...... i haven't heard very good reviews on these dt swiss rims , so could i put any 26 inch wheel on and if so what is a strong wheel thats a reasonable price

    It depends partly on what hub you have, you have to crunch the numbers. Also, no wheel will survive an awkward encounter with a stump, a well built DT is a pretty good rim.

    True ......... iv seen a few on ebay , i think i might buy the complete wheel. same wheel as is on there already and try not to smash into trees ...thanks for help
