are mountain bike festivals a thing of the past? do you go to them?

do you go to fat tire festivals? if not, is there anything that would change your mind to make you want to go?

friends and i were talking about how mountain bike festivals used to be cool and fun and wild and crazy. are they irrelevant? do you go to them?

is there such a thing as too big? too small? what would make a cool festival? are people over it, it is not cool anymore?

    just wondering.

I used to go to Fruita for theirs then I realized I was riding trails on the most crowded weekend of the year. Now I prefer to go when there are fewer people and camp and ride with my friends.
Gone are the days we stopped to decide,
    Where we should go,
    We just ride...

I love hanging out with mountain bikers, meeting cool people and riding new areas. Plus the vibe is awesome. I went to the Sun Valley festival this last July. I wish there were more of them but it seems they are dying off.
