Its owners oldest daughter's college education. Yup, that is where lots of my money is going for the next several years!

I've got 3 MTBs right now anyways. So, I just buy what they need to keep 'em runnin'.

God I hope I never make it to my golden years. I don't know if I will be able to handle the horrible arthritis I am sure to have thanks to all my various injuries.

We try not to get a return, which is impossible to do anyways.. Being married with no kids and two good jobs, they really stick it to my wife and I. We had nearly the max withheld this year and are still going to owe $700 (wife is a CPA)....... :banghead:

My bikes are perfect for me as they are.. I am buying a new whitewater kayak, and maybe a new fishing reel.

Business owners do not get a refund if they are paying their estimated quarterlies correctly. In fact, if business has improved, they may end up paying out more at the end.

I usually don't get a tax return as I try to get as much taken out a week. People are shocked that I do this and that I don't get a return, oh well.

I got all the bikes I want/need (I know the equation is N+1 but 8 is more than enough) so the question is...where do I ride them? This years tax return is a dedicated to destination biking. I think a trip from NorCal--->Oregon----->Wash----->Whistler is in order.

A wheelset maybe? Or maybe a trip to Acadia with the wife (again). But more than likely it will go to the mortgage.

As a business owner, I haven't seen a refund in several years. If I overpaid, it would go to last year's or next year's taxes. At least business continues to improve and leaves plenty of time for riding.

Trying to figure out if you are:

Calling your girlfriend an ATM or

    Calling the ATM your girlfriend.

New bike for me, new bed for my wife. Think I found one locally that is a damn good deal, and she made me promise to get a king bed when she got pregnant...so the time has come. The rest is being saved for when the little one gets here. We always spend around half the return on something we want, and save the rest...built up a pretty good amount that way, and still lets us have some fun with it.

For the crib make sure you get one that is convertible, and that you buy the bed-frame components up front. Sometimes, if you wait until the kid is ready for a full-size bed the frame rails are no longer available (doh!). I bought everything up front and just stored the box with the rails in my garage until the time came.

Also, make sure you assemble the crib IN the kid's room. They usually don't fit through the door in assembled state

    Income Tax return...

Kool Stops, Jagwires, possibly new 52t chainring, and some wet weather gear. Also looking at switching over to SPD. Might be able to talk the wife into the Park Tool home mechanic set. That would be great.

For everyone else, the boys need church clothes, the van needs a transmission, and the wife needs doula books for her classes. That should just about do it.

I'd love a new crankset... but there's nothing wrong with my current one so I don't think I can justify it. I want an XTR but it's pretty much just for looks (which is stupid).

Maybe some new shoes and race fees.

Thanks for the advice. We still have some time til "its" here...late August. We still need to figure out all the furniture stuff, and lucky for us were the last couple in our group of friends to have a child, so we're getting all kinds of advice and items!

Just heard back from our cpa friend and we will be getting a good chunk back this year due to our first child. Most will go to painting our house and metal roofing. The rest will buy concert tickets and pay off my new wheelset (flow ex/kings).

Both a Surly Cross Check frame/fork set and a Surly Troll frame/fork set,and a new-to-me used ride to haul em in (anything from another S10 to slam low, another SUV/minivan cause hauling bikes and camping in em is so easy for farther from home trips,to a VW Jetta wagon TDI if I can find one for MPG's,LOL :P ).

Technically, the Troll isn't coming out of the refund (we haven't filed yet),since I'm hoping to go order it up tomorrow (I've been saving and moving some things on CL and eVilbay to finance it),but as I'm swapping the build kit off my Xtracycle onto it,anything after the fact (racks/panniers,fenders,wheelset,discs,etc) will come outta the refund,so I included it

To those who say stuff like "old enough to know better than to blow it" (no one in particular),everyone has their priorities. I'm old enough to know that if I plan bigger non-have-to's purchases around the tax refund,I don't have to take food off the table to do things I want to do,and if it doesn't work out (without getting all political here, but with the state of the current regime,I don't count on a refund as a given anymore,LOL....),then no biggie,as it wasn't a "have-to"

Thats funny, I bought a bike and am looking to build a front 650B wheel on the cheap. And I would also like to regear to 4.88s...that'll keep me from having to add the supercharger!
