    I'm claiming the first in the world to mtb in 2019!

    6am New year's morning nz time. Thats gmt+ 12hrs.

    24 miles and 4100 feet of climbing for a New Years ride. Hopefully a sign that this year will be as good as or better than last (although a little less rain would nice).

    Thanks Plummet. Elevation gains where I ride these days are 600-900 ft. Fortunately we have lots of trails.

    Since you brought it up... Here's a sat. photo of the ship I was riding my bike on New year's Eve. I went from Summer to Winter (and back), and last ride of 2018 to the first ride of 2019 all in about 2 minutes. Elevation gained = 0. :-P
    I just didn't want to brag about it.

    I think the ship ride wins!

    Last New Year's Eve, my wife and kids all went to bed around 10pm. I didn't really have anything better to do, so I went out and did a mountain bike ride as night turned to morning. The snow made it all the more fun. A great way to bring in the new year.
