    i did.

my first mountain bike came to me at a cost of forty dollars and a leather jacket.

maybe the OP lives in a place where there are 90-95 percent caucasians?
LOL. As a kid, my friend Willie across the street had the baddest bike on the block. A Schwinn Predator. My brother and I got used bikes from the police auction which I'm greatfull for. In the early 80s we were cobbling bikes together from many sources. The last bike I had before I bought a real mountain bike with gears was a Schwinn Varsity with BMX cranks turned into a single speed with motocross bars from a Honda XL80 and Snakebelly tires. Who knew that at age 12 in 82, I'd made myself a mountain bike.

So I quoted a line from the G rated movie “The Jerk” and that post was deleted from this thread. It was a hilarious movie and a hilarious reference to lighten up this otherwise somewhat racist thread. I could throw a dart at this thread and come up with a post of a more inappropriate comment. The thread needs to be canned not cleaned of postes one individual finds not to his taste.

Well a friend of mine was born a poor black child, but now he is a wealthy black adult. I called him and asked him why he didn't ride mountain bikes, and he said "I don't know". So there you go.

i didn't get in to mountain biking until i was 29 or 30, i don't remember. i'm fifty seven now, so ya'll figure out how long i've been riding.

the reason i got exposed is even though i had lived in san francisco for some seven or eight years, most of my friends were and still are, white guys, some of whom rode and still ride mountain bikes.

had i not moved to san francisco from chillicothe ohio, i'd have probably never gotten into the sport.

i can go on and on on this subject but i think i have already in another similar thread, so i'll just leave it. BTW, i like NASCAR, too.

not many half-breed san francisco liberals like NASCAR and mountain bikes, huh?

    Don’t be a jerk.

What in that movie could possibly require such a rating?

Shit white people do: Skiing, mountain biking, road cycling, xc skiing, curling, fly fishing, and costumed endurance events.

They got the MX thing down finally and once again left the white man in the dust. Lol

It's happening with hockey too. Some really good players out there. Smith-Pelly, Jones, Subban all kill it, among others.

Special Purpose? That wouldn't even merit PG-13 today.

So, as I'm scrolling through my FB feed last eve I come upon a post about an upcoming slow city ride titled, and I quote ' black girls ride' led by a local A-A woman. Good stuff; trying to get others to enjoy our sport.

It would've been PG-13 if that rating existed when The Jerk was released.

Nice - they're a fun team to watch.

Hopefully, I get to watch them lose to the Bruins in the finals.

That's wishful thinking, if you think Boston will get passed Carolina?
