    Evil Bikes opening in Bellingham

New Evil store/factory/etc looks close to opening up in swank Fairhaven district of Bellingham. With Transition and Kona already here, what gives? Galbraith and Chuckanut mountain⛰ are great but there not Moab (yet). Maybe the loonies in Seattle drove them out?

A few years back, I asked Chris Canfield why Canfield Brothers moved their company to Bellingham. His answer? Whistler.

I think Bellingham has some great riding, but the real appeal for me would be that you're within a couple hour drive of more incredible riding in BC than you can shake a stick at. Heck, I drove right past Bellingham 4 times last year on my way to BC to ride, and Bellingham is 6 hours closer to BC than where I am at.

If the company I work for hadn't closed it's office in Bellingham, I'd seriously be considering moving up there.

    Fairhaven is swank???

Seattle has become a total sh!tshow and I can completely understand their move to Bellingham. Also, consider that the whole town is nuts for riding.

It has a much stronger riding culture than Seattle and there are a lot of new trails in the works up there.

    This, exactly.

Especially the swank part about Fairhaven. It's cool and eclectic... but swank? Many of the homes in the area are, but the business area is just cool and, dare I say it, hip.

I live south of Seattle and I want to move to Bellingham! The politics down here gets old in the Olympia - Seattle region. I'm sure you know that already! Now, if I can only convince my wife to move up there...

Oh, once I get in better shape, I'll hit you up for a ride at Tiger Mountain

.....swank Fairhaven district of Bellingham (OP).......If you check out the new Evil facility it is very upscale and they appear to have preserved an wooded area to test bikes? They (Evil) were hush on building the facility, having a third party file all the building permits so as not to disclose their Seattle departure I presume. Interesting enough another third party permit filing in B’Ham is rumored to be another bike company (SC).

On the way to Whistler last summer I rode at Galbraith. What a fun trail network! Loved it. I also own an Evil but I don't really think about where they locate their business.

I knew they were in trouble and trying to get funding. Glad they were able to move forward and not go under.
We don't ride to add days to our life, we ride to add life to the days we have left here.

Is this true? If so, I sure hope they weather whatever financial storm they are battling.

I have been lobbying my LBS to bring Evil in. I spoke with Evil last summer. They made it crystal clear that they are looking hard for more Canadian dealers. Goddammit. If my LBS brought them in they would instantly pre-sell a half dozen to me and my crew. I have no idea why they wouldn’t snag them.
