Cheapest Shipping Cost for shipping a bike?

Hi. I'm wondering what the cheapest way to ship my bike to Salem, West Virginia is. Well maybe not cheapest way but cheapest price/carrier. 95693 ship to 26426. I found $82 on shipbikes.com thru FedEx Ground. Anyone know a cheaper way price/way/carrier? It's a K2 Attack 1.0 I'm shipping and it will be partly disassembled and packed into a bike box by the LBS here.

Cheapest way would be to score a box, pack it yourself and bring it to the local FedEx.

Looks like it would be around $70 if you packaged it yourself and dropped it off at FedEx. USPS could be a bit cheaper. I'm a bit surprised as Shipbikes.com usually is cheap.

another vote for fedex. I sell a lot of bikes on ebay so in turn I ship a lot of bikes too. My experience has taught me that Fedex is cheaper and better than UPS. I can usually ship a bike across the country in the $75-$85 range.

    Good Luck.

Be careful if you ship UPS, 3 times they have added an extra charge for an oversize box. A quick call and they happily remove the charge.

In China, we ship a bike across the country in the $20-$45 range, send it by local courier, such as S.F express, also EMS express etc. so i think the cheapest way is that you can pack it by yourself and send it by local courier.

I sent two bikes from 00926 to 13420 and it was about $133 per bike using UPS Ground, the bikes arrived in perfect condition and in less than 7 days. The UPS guys told me that the cost will be lower if I opened an account plus they'll pick it up, I didn't opened the account because I don't ship that often.

Have you considered packing it and taking it with you on the plane?
