3M tape frame protection..need to know what i bought before

I searched MTBR for this but seemed to come up short. i bought some 3M "tape" to protect some frame decals/paint. i need more but can't seem to remember where i got them. i know it was online either ebay or another big box online shop. it didn't come in large sheets. rather it was in a role maybe 3"-4" wide or something. i am not even sure it what specifically it was made for. any ideas?

I couldn't tell you where you can get it, since i live in Australia, but here are some other solutions for frame protection if you are interested in alternatives:

    Crank Skins
    RACEshield

    Idea!

    Edge Tape.
Great stuff. Designed for protecting the leading edge of Airplanes, Helicopters and Race cars from nicks at high speed.
Get it at Aeronautical supply or Racing supply. Sold by the foot in 1" 2" and 4".
I wrap my chainstays with the 1".

I cover my bikes in the 3M tape. I get it from Go-Ride. They sell it in sheets. Ive used other stuf but theirs seems to work the best.

    helicopter tape.

Some people swear by this stuff.

Never tried it but have heard good things about it. Seems a bit pricey, but I guess a role should last a long time.

Or buy by the foot from racing supply, Amazons not a bad deal though even with shipping, seems like the same stuff.
Its a lot cleaner and lighter than a neoprene or other guard. I wrapped 50/50 (second wrap covers half the previous one) so its really a double layer. Then wrapped the ends with a little electrical tape.

I bought a roll of the 3M chip guard at an autobody supply shop. 4" wide by 6 or 8 feet long. Some call it rock guard, some call it chip guard, 3M is great stuff.
