Gary Fisher Sugar 1 vs. Sugar 3+/4+

So I have a couple questions, which, as a previous Gary Fisher owner kind of embarress me. I'm looking at buying a Gary Fisher Sugar 1 (that's what it is listed as anyway) and I want to know how to tell it is actually a "Sugar 1".

That being said, I am also wondering what the difference is between the Sugar 1 and Sugar 3+ or 4+, since I could save a few bucks and pick one of those up if the differences aren't that great. I've looked, but can't seem to find a break down of what's different about them.

If I remember right sugar one was the entry level bike ,and the 3 and 4 had higher end components ,the frames should be real close ,I have a 3 frame ,the rear triangle is carbon fiber ,not sure if the 1 had carbon triangle or not .

Really? I know the 3 was at one point offered with discs. But I remember the 1 being a lot more expensive than the rest of them.

The 1 that I'm looking at has:

    Carbon Fiber rear triangle
    Carbon Fiber handlebars
    Cane Creek rear shock
    Rock Shox front fork
    Fork lock out on handlebars
    Race wheel set
    New sadle
    New rear derailer
    x7 components

He's asking $500 for it with the cleats, too. (and they'd fit me)

    Think it's a good move?

The sugar 3 frame I have does not have disk mounts in rear ,it has v-brake mounts ,I have an aluminum mount to make it disk in the rear ,so they can be added ,the frame I have is an xl ,I started building it up ,and was too tall for me ,I ended up going with a large hifi frame
As for price ,$500 seems fair ,you can not build that bike anywhere less than double that even with used parts ,frame alone is worth 200ish I would think .
My 3 frame also has 2 shock mount points ,I can't remember ,but I think it was 90 and 120mm travel settings ,there were a few different links from what I remember ,mine may have said Sybil on it .

So the guy flaked on me, never showed up, and now a month later he's saying he wants to keep it because a friend is using it. Blah. Oh well, the search continues!

I bought an original sugar 4. This is the lowest level sugar. The 1 is the highest. However, being that the bikes are so old, probably most of them have been upgraded.
Mine has. Mine does not have disc tabs for the rear, so I am only running disc's in the front.

So I pulled the trigger on a sweet deal from good ol' Craigslist on Tuesday. Came across a 2000 Gary Fisher Sugar 3 that only needs new wipers in the front fork and has a ton of upgrades. I'll post pictures when I get a chance.

Here she is, ditching the stickers he had on there and cleaning her up a bit, but other than that she's a beauty! Anyone know where to get replacement Gary Fisher decals that wrap the down tube?
