Greetings! I am a former avid mountain biker (10-20 years ago) who occasionally gets on the trails nowadays. I have been riding a rigid fork, hard-tail Ritchey Ultra for 20 years. Although I love my “vintage” mountain bike, my back no longer likes it aggressive, stretched-out geometry. I need a mountain bike with a more upright riding position: my Fuji Sportif 1.1 road bike has a very comfortable handlebar height which is 5” taller than my Ritchey. I am currently looking for a decent full-suspension mountain bike for occasional use (100-150 miles per summer) priced up to $1500.

One bike that caught my eye is the 2009 Fuji Outland RC, as PricePoint still has a few of these bikes left in stock. It looks like a great bike: the frame looks well-designed, it is very light (advertised at 26.4lbs) and it has a full Shimano XT component group (9-speed). I am specifically looking for people who have owned or ridden this bike to answer to the following questions:

How do you like it?
How “upright” is the geometry?
Has it been durable and reliable?
If you have a “Medium” size, what does it weigh?

Thanks in advance!
