    Tapered alloy steerer tube

I know steel and ti are readily available but I can't find any tapered alloy steerer tubes anywhere. Does anybody know where I can find stock tapered alloy steerer tubes?

Thanks for the help but I'm still not finding the steerer tube. I'll have to give them a call tomorrow.

kosayno I'm familiar with your past builds and all. Would what you have in mind be satisfied by a carbon steerer?

    Hey Drew,
I'm actually looking into carbon as well and am currently working on a final drawing with the manufacturer before proceeding with the order. The reason I wanted to go alu also is because the weight isn't too far off from carbon but cheaper. The carbon manufacturer I'm working with right now is offering them for $80/piece. I really have nothing to compare that price to because no one else is offering them afaik but that price seems really reasonable. I may not even need the alu steerer after all if I can eventually find any stock to get a price comparison.

My apologies and I know you've been working with carbon but your name totally slipped my mind. Have you made any tapered steerers yet?

I haven't made any yet, however I haven't seen a motivation or need yet. You're the first. I was offering under the assumption that you were utterly starved for options. Go with your first lead, and if it falls through let's chat.
