    seat tube collar help

I am looking at the PMW seat collars that allow you to use straight gauge tubing for a seat tube and this collar reduces for the proper ID for the seat post. I know that pretty much all of the examples that I have seen have been welding in (probably fusion welded). Do you think that I will have any luck brazing one in that has the step down? I was thinking about putting brass or silver rings inside the tube and drawing it out through the joint with the torch. Thoughts?

    Thanks, Wil

You can silver braze it just like you would a lug. If you're concerned about penetration or inexperienced with silver, just drill a few (tiny) holes through the straightgauge tube so you can see where the silver has progressed to (or even feed silver through the holes).

    Go for it!
