NC frame builders?

I have a 95 Trek 970 that i have recently started riding again as a SS and was thinking about having a local frame builder add disc brake bosses and possibly horizontal drop outs. I was just curious if there are any local to Raleigh NC and what something like this would cost.

Is this a good idea or asking for trouble. The last think i want to do is mess up my ride trying to modernize it.
