Internal gear routing in advice frame- advice needed

Hi, I am think of running both the front and rear gear cabling through the down tube on a road bike I am building out of Columbus life tubing. Planning on using brass tubing to route the cable through the tube and then brazing some covers over the holes. Can anyone see any problems with compromising the strength of the down tube? The gear cables would exit the down tube on the bottom just before the bottom bracket and then wrap around the underside of the bottom bracket.

    Any advice much appreciated.

The covers restore the material loss.

If I don't make an attempt, how will I know if it will work?
