Frame #1 Via Waltworks Frame Building School!

My wife signed me up for Walts class for my 40th birthday.

I live close to Park City, so I did a week long class & drove up & back every day. I am beyond happy with the result! Walt is a great teacher, very patient, & good at the I do, we do, you do method. Now I just need to get myself a welder so I can keep practicing TIG and start #2!

Frame #1 Via Waltworks Frame Building School!

    More pics.

Its basically an Ultimate Warrior. 29+, 120mm Fox Fork, 420mm chainstays, and a ton of fun to ride!

Congratulations! It's a great feeling to ride a frame you built yourself, isn't it?

Cool! I'm amazed at frame builders. Would love the opportunity to learn that.

You know, it's funny how we look at bikes from magazines, online these days, follow a brand and follow the crowd in so much that we do in life, but, when we commit to our own build and follow through to completion, how all the above crap just does not compare to your own labour of love. Well done. Welcome to your world of reward.

If I don't make an attempt, how will I know if it will work?

Thanks for the kind words, Frog! I was pretty intimidated to be "teaching" someone who has forgotten more about machining than I'll ever know!

For those who don't know, 1 Cog Frog is a high school shop/industrial design/machining teacher. Meaning he knows way more than I do about making everything... except bikes!

    Nice work man!

Walt I have been looking into this, I live in Salt Lake and had no idea you were up in park city, What is the wait time if I signed up now before you could set aside a week for something like this?

I schedule everything individually, Fattyrider38. Feel free to give me a call (or meet me for a ride/at the brewery sometime) if you're interested. I'm booked up until November right now, and I don't do any classes in December/January/February due to the cold temps (shop is not well insulated!) So we could squeeze you in in November or wait until 2019.
