    Didymium splits.

    Anybody tried these?

    not sure what the point is, I have ace with green #3 tint and I can see perfectly well. Now if I was doing heavy glass work and needed a #5 shade, that would be different

    Yes I have them. Yes I like them. Point is you can use 'em without a shade and it's easier to see the color of the steel than with a shield. I use them with a flip up #3 shade. I use the shade when sparking and adjusting the flame. I usually leave the shade down for brass but flip up for silver when temp control is less obvious and more important.
