that sucks. This reads like those posts about that ti builder dude that absconded with all those peoples money and no bikes delivered. I can't remember what his name was but he moved to Canada and "had problems" or something.

Good luck getting your stuff back or some closure. There is nothing more demotivating than getting ripped off in good confidence. It lingers, I know first hand.

The infamous Matt Chester. To this day I remain in stunned disbelief of the loyalty of his former flock. Years after Chester absconded with deposits, people were still saying they believed in him and would eventually receive their frames.

    They didnít.

Thanks for some reason I just couldn't pull up the name from my brain.

I loved that thread in a sad way. The 11 year waits with continued excuses from Chester. The poorly made frames but the rabid fanaticism.

Anyway looks like Pete has found a new version of Matt. I would be very wary of ordering a frame from this guy, his actions show a lack of compassion and accountability.

I went to church with Matt Chester as a kid. He was a few years younger than me but I knew him. I guess he wasn't paying attention.

My folks would see his folks at once a year reunions and I remember them mentioning that he was building bikes. That was prior to when I got back into riding bikes in 2006.
This post is a natural product. Variances in spelling & grammar should be appreciated as part of its character & beauty.

My guesstimate is that he meant that Matt was not paying attention to the words of god taught in church.

I hope the good news in this case at least is that instead of the old any news is good news this one is more bad news is worse news for this guy.

Just reading your reports of this I definitely get that Matt Chester vibe.

Glad this story has a slightly less unhappy ending. Hope Greg White gets shingles, leprosy and a goiter.
