Zero Degree 13mile commute, my first one in the snow

I bought my fattie for this reason and today I got to put it to the test. Says it "feels" like Zero but that wind chill had to be well below Zero.

    My clothing.

Final gear..From the inside out. Short sleeve UnderArmor Top, Army Silks bottom, Thin Wool socks, Pearl Izumi full body (bib) coveralls, Underarmor long sleeve top, Wool knee high socks, Army long sleeve PT shirt, Long black/green tights, Army PT Jacket, Gortex cycling shoe covers, Army fleece skull cap, Full face wrap and I toped it off with a 18yr old Daryl "Moose" Johnston. Oh yea...a pair of Pearl Izumi under gloves. No need for thick bulky gloves due to using Bar Mits, they are flippen amazing.

The beast cut through the fresh powder like hot butter. Granted my overall route took 45 addational minutes, I never fell or slid out, she maintained even when crossing very icy streets. I was running 8pds of presure.

Stopped for a coffoe at mile 10, the only thing cold were my toes.

Bike performed like a champ, front derailer iced up but still worked no issues with rear derailer or brakes.

Overall great ride, now I get to turn around and go back home after work. Powder will now be frozen so it could be an even slower ride. Would have taken more pics but to be honest, it was $%^&en cold and stopping ment freezing. :P </SPAN>

    Awesome!
Yep--I find my commute takes twice as long as it did in the summer, which factors into clothing selection---exposure time.

How are you liking that Pug Ops? Got mine for the same reason -- winter riding. What pressure you riding at?

I LOVE my Pugs, towards the end of summer I found myself riding it more than my 29er.

Normal (no snow) I'll ride 15pds, today I dropped them to 8pds for max traction. I weight in at 220 before clothing and it seems to ride fine.

I'm running at 8, too. I find that the pressure drops when the tires get cold. After a three hour ride Saturday (-2F), they got down to 5.5-ish.Hey, aren't we supposed to be working?
