    Winter Riding Boots, Any suggestions?

Looking for recommendations for a new pair of riding boots. Looking for something that is warm/waterproof and has a nice sole for flats. What are people riding in?

I have been riding in a pair of Asolo Fugitives for the last 2 years and like them. My only complaint is that the metal eyelets scratch cranks and cut up laces.

    Thanks!

Just got a pair of Keen Brixen boots. Light, waterproof, and warm. I have done about three rides in them so far and am pleased. Sole works great on my Atom Lab pedals.

I just bought the Summit Country's... same sole. I'll try to get them in some snow this weekend.

I went looking at the Keens and ended up buying these Merrell's instead:

Any chance you can offer insight on sizing? Keen says these run a half size small, so I'm tempted to bump up to an 11.5...or a 12...from my usual size 11.

My usual size is an 11. I got a 12. I am really glad I did. Any smaller and thicker socks would not have been a good fit.

The toe box is really roomy, and the draw strings bring the upper snug against your instep and force your heel back into the heel cup nicely.

My feet are also really skinny and my feet have tons of room in regular socks in these, so take my recommendations with that in mind. Wider footed folk may find them to be "just right" without drawing the strings real tight like I have to.

Oh, and the image shows the boots just after I had forded a small stream which had water up over my ankles. Dry and warm inside!

I ordered Brixens from backcountry.com for $103 shipped, and used fatwallet.com to get 10% cash back via PayPal. Around $93 shipped for comfy, warm boots is a deal!
