Are the BFL's really lighter then the old Larry's?

Will the BFL work okay on a 50mm rim? I ride a 135mm Jones hub up front on my Jones with a Larry only in the dirt and rocks (not snow or sand).

Please, please, please. Can someone give me a ballpark figure for the total wheel + BFL height?

I need to confirm chainstay leength for a custom build.

I will post one as soon as my wheels are built unless someone else does it first. My rear is complete just waiting for the front spokes. Hopefully tomorrow.

I would love to see a caliper measurement on both the BFL and the Nates mounted on clown shoes. Looks pretty sweet!
There is no charge for awesomeness......or attractiveness.

Good rep does not wash out the bad, nor the bad the good.

I'm a new member and can't post links, but google "surly nate I love you" and the first link from fatbikes has a great pic of the Nate on 100mm rims - in a Pugs!

Here ya go guys. Clownshoes with BFL and Nate mounted side by side. Bike is a 170mm 907. Plenty of clearance all around. Approx. 4mm between tire and chain in high rear position 1x10 setup and E13 cranks mounted centered (no extras spacers). If you are running a triple crank some cogs will need to come off.

Sorry I didn't bother getting a pic of a Nate on my UMA II 70mm's. The tire is much skinnier though than when mounted to a 100mm....much skinnier.

I'm coming up with approx. 4 3/8" with the Nate and approx. 4 1/2" with a BFL. They are very close to same width. The BFL is a little taller. Measured with 5 - 5.5psi.

Goofy question...but are the rim strips you use reflectors or do they just wash out in the flash from the camera?

I used 3M reflective material for the rim strips. Highly visible during night rides.

It's fabric. Same stuff they sew into clothing. A guy on EBay sells it in different widths by the foot.
