    Second wheelset 26 or 27.5

Looking for advice since I'm really overthinking this. I have a mukluk with 26" rims and a set of jumbo jims for summer and studded Dillinger 5s for winter. I'd like to get a second wheelset to avoid tire changes since we seem to be in a transition season right now.

I like the jumbo jims in the summer, but they are 4.8". I was thinking I could get a 27.5x 50 mm wheelset and run a3.8" tire for summer use. I'd have to get the wheelset and tires.

I could get another 26" wheelset and have the jumbo jims without buying another set of $200+ tires.

I've over analyzed the weights and costs. Any overwhelming opinions either way?

    Thanks

Having ridden a lot of both, I would never, ever, ever go back to 26" for spring/summer/fall riding.

    Your 27.5 x 50 w/3.8's idea is excellent.

I went with a 27.5x42 love em in the summer.
No sense buying another 26"set ..

I have a set of Mulefut 27.5's and use those almost exclusively now. The 26" wheel sets I have only get used if it's deep, fresh snow.

Agreed I have a set of 27,5 WTB Scrapper rims with a set of Fat b Nimbles 27.5 x 3.8s which honestly are only 3 wide and a perfect for our trails.

The only issue I have is how fast the roll and roll over everything that sometimes I am at my threshold of my skill level.

Yes, but I also want to be fat bike class eligible for racing, which is a 3.8" tire. 29+ only goes to 3.25" that I'm aware of.
