    Salsa MUKLUK GNARWHAL 27,5х4,5

    Hello everyone.

Has anyone here inserted the wheel 27.5 x4.5 in Salsa MUKLUK 2018?

I would like to see photos and read your reviews about the gaps between the tire and the frame.

Thank you all in advance for the quick answers.

Thank you very much. What is the position of the rear axle? Front or back position?

Do you think that on the aluminum frame the distance from the frame to the tire will be more or less?

This was a year ago, zoom in and maybe you can see the position, I don't remember, looks like it was all the way forward. Take your bike to a shop with a case of beer and do a test fit.

I have 27.5 x 4.5 Gnars studded on Jackalopes on 2017 Aluminum Mukluk. I run the dropouts about 3 millimeters out from being slammed forward and there is about 3/8 of an inch clearance at Seat Tube and plenty of room at chain stay and seat stay junctions and plenty of side clearance as well. Rear tire pressure 7psi and less.

I have tried and failed to mount the rear tire at 20psi in the same position. The ridiculously high psi made the tire far too tall and wide, but would fit by moving dropouts back.

Added photos with dropouts slammed forward and tire at 6.5psi and 111.5mm in width @ 7680' in elevation:

    Thanks,

Then I have a question - why even with such small ground clearance no one pushes the wheel back? Clearances are really very small, I would increase them by moving the axis backwards.

no one is saying YOU can't push the wheel back to suit your needs.
