salsa mukluk with 120 tpi nate and self drilled rolling daryl hates tubeless

So I have a problem, Before I moved to Korea I set up my Muk tubeless, I have 120 tpi Nates and Rolling Darryls. The front tire has been great no leaks what so ever. Happy with that But the back on the other hand has had problems. I was riding around on the trail and I kept hearing hissing on and off and in like 20 miles had to reinflate my rear tire like 3 times. I filled up my tire to like 15 than took off to keep riding, 1 min on trail rode over a root and bam tire pops off rim very loudly. Koreans were jumping on the ground. Now I'm sitting here or in Korea with a regular tube in my fatty and I want to set it back up tubeless again but am not sure how to without leaks. I have Stans in the tires already and have gorrilla tape wrapped around it. I don't have access to a compressor but do have a joe blow mountain pump. Its also hard to get ahold of stuff like window seal stuff. If I wrap the rim in a bunch of gorilla tape will it work better. Help with this sitch please.

That worked for me. I used clear 3m duct tape instead. I split the tape and just wrapped two more times over the bead shelf. Cured my problem

Split tube = no leaky hassles, at least from anything other than the tire itself.

Sucks, sorry to hear you have a hassle in a far off, less fat supportive land....

In that case, not to be a zealot, but split tube would resolve that, pretty much guaranteed.

Hey, at least it's a cheap answer!

Yep, when my gorilla tape started to be finicky, I switched to split-tube and for the most part it holds air better especially around the bead.

That being said, you can always try a second wrap of tape....I had to do that on one of my RD rims.

So split tube sounds good than less leaking. So do like a 24x2.1tube

Will ghetto tubeless prevent the tire from coming off of the rim? Not on a fat bike, but on a 'regular' mtb, I once had a new tire that kept blowing off the rim. The problem turned out to be a problem with the tire bead, not the rim setup.

With a wide rim like the rd, probably a 24x 2.3 - 2.75 would give you more rubber to work with if you can find one.
