    Salsa Bucksaw BB question

I'm installing the bottom bracket, a race face BB92 x-type BB and the documentation on spacers is a little ambiguous and confusing. Can anyone tell me what the correct amount is for the bucksaw?

You may have to arrange the spacers as needed for appropriate chain line. Many have 3, in which 2 go on the drive and 1 on non drive sides.

    Yup^, assuming they are included

You can move the cranks to one side or the other for chain line, really all that matters is that you have enough spacers to get the cranks/BB tight.

The correct amount is the number that allows you to appropriately torque the bolts and get the chainline where you want it.

Take a picture of the bits that came in your kit. Some came with the BB some came with the crank. Some have received none, too few, too many, just enough.

I think I dropped one of the stock 1mm and added two aftermarket 0.5mm, split one each side.

mine came with just one spacer- un fortunately it's at the bike shop, so I can't photo it... I couldn't fine a fat specific PF92bb for X-type cranks, so I'm using a regular RF BB. I'm guessing/hoping that my LBS will have contacted race face and Salsa for the correct info by now...

Hopefully. This is the first bucksaw that they've sold. They sell quite a few of the other salsa models, but mostly, they sell All City, Pake, Fuji, & Surly road/omniterra bikes. They're a fantastic urban bikeshop and were pretty much the first shop in Philly to carry fat bikes, but that's not necessarily their specialty. Fat bikes are only beginning to catch on here in Philadelphia.

It's great when a shop becomes an early adopter of the fAt! Hope you gitter sorted so you can enjoy the ride.

Yeah, my RaceFace cranks didn't come with enough spacers, either. Being CINCH rather than x-type, I needed 30mm spacers. I went to a local shop and bought a bunch. Ended up being more than I need, so now I have a few spares floating around. Those kinda parts are really never a bad thing to have spares of.
