    Salsa BearGrease . . .

Doesn't seem like the Beargrease gets much love, any particular reason why?

I pick up my new Beargrease Carbon X01 tomorrow.

    Cool-blue Rhythm

I have a beargrease, hands down one of the most fun bikes I've ever ridden.

This is the x5 alum version from last year, out of the box with pedals it weighs 29lbs, and is amazingly capable at both climbing and descending. So much, that I got rid of my other full suspension bikes, because i no longer ride them.

This is however my first fat tire bike, so they all may just be like that

What kind of prices have you guys seen on the 16 BG X7's? Always loved that bike. The new 17's look really good as well.

I have had my carbon BG about 18 months. Only 3 "bad" things.
Not every 4.8" rubber fits. Although i am happy with Maxxis Minions.
27.2 seatpost. I can't fit dropper post, i would like.
    ISCG tabs would be nice.
I can't justify cost of Les Fat (in europe), so i ride happily with my BG

Edit: Imo, overall BG is a very good bike. I hope you are as happy with yours, as i am with mine

    Thomson makes a 27.2 dropper.

Also, I've had both aluminum and carbon BGs and the aluminum version actually has more tire clearance..

My Thomson 27.2 dropper post on my pink Salsa has been great and no problems in almost a year of 3-5 rides a week!
Best/most versatile bike I have owned, currently 29+ for summer and it's still fun!!

^ and ^^ I have been looking Thomson, but winter reliability worries me. Have you used Thomson at temperatures around 14 fahrenheit ( -10 celsius)?

The Thomson works very well in cold weather. The only concern is that there isn't a lot of cable return force, so if the cable has any hint of getting wet or frozen, it will sometimes not function correctly.

Overall, very happy with the Thomson.

And I think the Beargrease gets lots of love. It's just not a recent release, so there's not a ton of press on it. The Blue aluminum from 2015 is the best deal I've ever seen, on any bike.

I live on the west coast of Canada and maybe ridin 1 or 2 days at that temperature (so not enough to tell how well it would work), lots of rain and mud in the winter!
