Well, I am demoed a fat bike and I loved it and am waiting for a new one to come to my LBS. Hopefully sometime in October. There is no way that everyone will like riding a fat bike. Everyone has there preferences. So ride what you like to ride and enjoy the trail or road or dirt you are on. I do this for fitness and a few races but I mostly do it because it is a helluva a lot of fun that accomplishes both ends.

    Hold the phone guys.

Hold the phone. Think for a second. I just got done reading mikesee's elaboration on an inflammatory sounding thought that garnered him some flak.

And then I read this thread. Dude doesn't like fatties.

Look at the content of this guy's post. It can be summarized as "I don't like fat bikes."

He didn't give any criticism. No detail. Not even an overall vibe beyond them not being for him.

This guy is lazy. You're going to hate on a lazy person?

These types are best ignored. I'd rather have a discussion with someone who dislikes fat bikes and can tell me why.

    Boring!

Back to the robotics cave where I will think on mikesee's words and how they have implications for both the unrelated and completely related stuff I'm trying to build...

Way to give it the old college try, creekchubb. I just farted. That's about how much applause I'm giving you.

Ahh, typical troll post, don't fall for it guys.

For many of us, riding a bike is fun. fat bikes are fun. They let you go places normal bikes cannot.

And hey, at least you tried it.
Not everyone has to like it.

I dislike road biking....the skinny tires, cars, and attitude of some (not all, but some). I don't go on the road bike forum to let them know I don't like it lol.

Not to be rude, but I don't think most people on here really care if you like a fat bike or not...I know I don't. Hell, I don't know you, and probably will never meet you. I don't get into the disrespectful posts, but on the internet everyone is bulletproof. It is amazing!

The thing that stands out in your initial post is that you gave absolutely no details about what you rode, where you rode and what range the tire pressure was. There is a big difference between you trying a $200 Mongoose and a $5,000 Beargrease. If you tried a good bike, then it simply isn't for you. If you tried a cheap bike, then what did you really expect? Tire pressure is also EXTREMELY important. Your terrain dictates your pressure. If you tried a friend's bike, I assume they have played enough with pressure to have an idea of where they want it to be.

Everyone likes different things. That is the reason for chocolate and vanilla. I hope you enjoy your ride of choice often.

Very true Galen.......but what did u expect with the wording of his post.....CREEKCHUBB why don't u post again explaining why and what you didn't like...what bike that you rode...and what the terrain was, also what your current ride is and see the difference in responses from the diehard fat bike lovers.....you might be surprised how nice they can be.........MAYBE....lol

Oh no, the fat seed has been planted he will own now by February.
The first time I saw and tried one I thought it was the stupidest thing ever. Then I could not stop thinking about it, started to check them out on line and three months later I owned one.
All of my riding buddy's thought I was retarded when they saw mine and now they all own one also.

You should have never tried one especially if you wanted to like it........prepare to open your wallet, it is like a slow festering illness.
