Removing Front Derailleur on GBEM w. Shimano Alivio fd-m410e

So there are 2 "notches" in the BB housing that the FD lock into I am setting this (2015 Gravity Bullseye Monster) up as a 1x and have had a water issue in the BB and want to seal off these notches when removing the FD. Has anyone else had this issue? If so how did you resolve it?

The bottom bracket cup threads extend well past the notches. Grease them up good and it should help seal it up. That said, water can get to to bottom bracket from various areas, seat tube, head tube, bottle cage bolt holes and etc. Sometimes it's best to understand that water will get in there, and give it an easy means to get out. You might consider a weep hole (or not if your riding submerges your BB).

Thank you for the insight. I will just go with a 2.5mm spacer to replace the space on the FD bracket and run it. I can always pull it apart once a month and clean her up.

looks like you need to hit your frame with some frame saver or similar protectant
