A question for European based forum users about Bike-Mailorder in Germany

As I mentioned in a previous thread I live in the UK and Iím looking to buy a Salsa Mukluk. My question is has anybody used www bike-mailorder.de and did you receive a hassle free service from them?

I can't include the url in my thread as my post count is too low at the moment but these guys are located in Berlin, Germany and they have a quite professional looking website similar to Chain Reactionís in the UK.

    Thanks,

    Richard.

    Dont get me started.....

I had a lot of trouble ordering from them.
The stock list on their site wasn't up to date so not everything was in stock.
They would not send me the parts that they did had, so i had to wait for a month until the rest was there.
    And last but not least...
They lied by stating that they do not do business with Ison distribution in the UK, while a worker at ison said they almost daily ship parcels to them.
And when i finally got the whole lot, they screwed it up by putting 2 Endo's in with the order while i wanted a Larry and a Endo.

So all and all, i would not order again from them.
Maybe you could try http://www.bike-components.de They have a lot of Salsa gear, and maybe they can order one for you.
Or ask your LBS to order one from http://www.ison-distribution.com they were a great help to me.

I hope this helps you in getting what you want hassle free !

    hi richard,

they are one of the bigger names over here in germany - i've ordered a few times from them.

so far so good, i'd say - only problem is that the website shows items 'in stock' which apparently aren't.

better ask, before placing an order - but email response can take quite a while...

    good luck!

singlespeedcentral in holland has a good rep

    http://www.singlespeed.nl/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=36_83&products_id=632

might not be as cheap as some of the german stores though

Have you tried Billys in Cambridge ?

They have been good to deal with and are a UK bike shop that deals with ISON.

I think Billy's are owned by ISON or there is some connection.

It's the first place I look to see if there is stock. It looks very much to me like Billy's website is ISON's stock.

If there's stock, your lbs can have it the next day, and no postage costs.

I can't speak for those guys but I've noticed a couple of different German vendors I've talked to tend to be slower to reply to email than U.S. based outfits. Better to call them, they're very responsive once you connect.

And they have a best-price-garantuee-policy (worked almost every time for me). So they will match prices of Bike-mailorder.de. Solid delivery too.
