Newbie sourcing a rack & panniers for 2014 Kona Wo

    Hello friends,

I am embarking on a 2 week trail-riding bike trip next month, and am trying to outfit my 2014 Kona Wo with some panniers. I am looking at getting 2 pairs of Ortlieb Bike-Packer Plus Panniers. Unfortunately, I don't yet have any way of fastening them to my bike.

I need a back rack and, if possible, a front rack. I've never put a rack on a bike before, and I have zero idea of what will fit my bike. There are two threaded holes per side above the rear axle, and one threaded hole per side above the front axle. There are single, centered holes on the front fork and on the back of the frame, which I presume are for mounting fenders.

I would be very grateful to hear any suggestions of mounting techniques and compatible racks. The guy at my bike shop mentioned getting a new seat-post clamp with threaded holes for mounting a rack.

Have you considered a rackless system like that from Revelate, Apidura or Porcelain Rocket to name a few??
