So I got an enabler and a fat front. Now my bike won't fit in either of my racks. One is the old sportsworks (now thule) cheapy one that holds the whole bike with an arm that grabs the tire. I solved this one by putting the bike in backwards and retaining the larry with a toe strap. Works fine.

The other is a fork down model on a roof rack. Being a 135mm hub I needed something to connect the 100mm to the 135mm. As it happens I used to use marrzochi forks with the 20mm through thing. I still have one of the hurricane fork up converters from that era and a qr20 axle.

I scoured my parts bin and found an old Hugi hub with a bent axle that is unrepairable. I knocked out the fork ends and the axle, milled down one end cap to match the other, cut down the qr20 axle to the correct length and assembled everything, holding it together with a sheet metal screw so it doesn't shift when loaded.

Cost = $0 my favorite price.

now hopefully I will be able to tag along in anyone's car or go ride in either of my cars!
