Chips has Tweeted that it was the favorite bike of the testers during the time they were riding it. I would suspect a favorable review.

Doc just beat me to it i just looked on the website...

Thing is they had a purple pug back in 2006 (issue 26) and it featured in the Bike Porn page, The bike was going to be reviewed and tested in lots of different conditions, but it just dissapeared and it never happened... guess it wasnt cool back then and non mainstream

I think its Jane`s Mukluck they had if i remember right that Andy was saying Chipps was taking it for a few days... we need to get the STW guys out for a beachride sometime...

Just dont mention the Moonlander to them...

Looks like things have started to move on the home front at last.

Reckon in 12 months time you could be passing someone coming the other way on a Fat Bike?

I don't think that'll ever happen in the UK.

Look how long it's taken for people to even start thinking about 29ers.

^ ..very true, but the difference between a wheel size of 26 to 29er probably doesn't even compute with most mountain bikers.

Fat to me is a different bike style.

    Still, not holding my breath!

    Re Singletrack Mag

If someone wants to write up the UK beach gathering and supply some decent quality images then it might get printed ?, if not why not have another get together/adventure and now I have my Muk I'll write something up ;-)

The 2006 Pugsley belonged to Shaggy IIRC at the time, he's been around on it a bit since then (Iditarod etc), I don't remember it being a long termer although most of us associated with the mag rode it a bit, it was that bike that piqued my interest although its taken a long time to get here, the heavy snow falls over the last two years got me thinking, and then of course the realisation that we are surrounded by beaches :-)

Speaking as a long time Fat curious chap, the difference is actually riding one. It's all well and good saying how great they are, but in my 20 years of providing demo bikes for people, the only other bike I can say HAS to be ridden is a Maverick.
Our demo Pugsley went out on Thursday, the guy loved it. He actually brought it back today and told us he had the best ride ever this Sunday on it.

I was smitten at Interbike after riding the Moonlander - why oh why didn't I realise these things were so much fun five years ago?

Has anyone seen this magazine for sale in the UK yet? I was in my local WH Smiths earlier today and there was no sign of it on the shelves - I entered the shop full of the glow of anticipation and left shortly afterwards feeling sad and deflated, (not really!!).

The magazine isn't in WHSmiths any more. Smiths wanted silly money just to stock it, plus they want to return every unsold copy, so it just wasn't worth the publishers keeping it in there.

Try your local newsagent, or bike shop - they'll likely have it.

Hmm, perhaps it was just some branches they were being silly in.
