Every year this comes up and the reports I have read is unless you are pointed down hill it take a Lance Armstrong type motor to power it. You see the thing builds up no momentum or no inertia, maybe my terms are wrong but moral of the story I heard it sucks.

I have a buddy who owned one for a couple of years and he got out on it pretty often. He said it was slow and really took a lot of effort to move but it was fun. Last year I took him out on a Fatbike for the first time. He went home and sold the K-trak within an hour. Seriously.

I bought one off craigslist here in Anchorage.....I just HAD TO try it out.

The honest truth is that even on hardpack, the effort to ride the Ktrak is considerable....for a reward of very little speed.

..on the other hand.....The Ktrak has great traction and will continue forward in about 8 inches of unconsolidated snow...... I am not talking champagne powder...I am talking soft yet dense snow.

No fatbike can go where the Ktrak goes as far as depth of snow..................

I have never ridden it down any grade......so gravity is not at work in my experiences with it
