    Improving MOM and DAD :)

The SKS Mom and Dad mudguards (fenders) are really very good in many ways......

How ever they come up a little "short" when it comes to Fatbikes as I found out first hand on a recent beach ride.

How could we improve MOM and DAD ???

Very easily as it turns out.

Take one cheap semi rigid clipboard in black ( 1.49 from Wilcos).

Use the end of either Mom or Dad as a template.

Cut out two black shaped extensions. Score a centre line on the back of the extensions and fold to match shape of Mom and Dad.

Use strong double sided tape ( in this case no more nails) and attach firmly to Mom and Dad.

I added about 4.5" to the overall length of each.

    No pedal interference.

BUT....... you still have some clipboard left over, makes a simple but effective lower Downtube guard to beep you water bottles a little cleaner.

    Ride and ENJOY

Nifty. Looks just like it was supposed to be like that.

I wonder when mudguard manufacturers will get the message that we want these things to actually keep all the crap off us, not just some of it.

His site is still not up, he's been very busy! I rang him the other day and had a chat, then gave him my details over the phone, there is now a set en-route to Western Australia, He's also sent me some extra mounting kits so I can try and mount them to my SC32. I'll let you know how it all goes. I've promised John I'll send him some pics and info for the SC32 so he can build up a specific kit for it.
